Working with wire is a skill that I want all of my students to be proficient in; however, it can be tough to learn because it is so detail-oriented.

This project is great for me because it teaches students really important wire skills (looping styles and handling pliers) while being small and simple enough that it doesn’t frustrate them.

Students go off of the given tutorial but make it their own by creating their own insect—a beetle, butterfly, a bee, etc. Altogether this project is super fun, I hope your students enjoy it too!
